It's a Boy!

Well, folks...it's official. I'm somebody's Momma. Theodore Gillis Lodge arrived at 2:01 PM on October 28, 2003.

As all mothers do, I now have my Battle Tale. It was a long and difficult labor. Actually, things went pretty smoothly for a good long time; they just became increasingly difficult near the end. I won't scare away casual visitors with the gory details, but if you're a friend and are curious...email me and I'll fill you in.

The short version is that after 26 hours of labor, Theodore was delivered by Cesarean section. I have a lot of disappointment and guilt and grief over that. It will take a while to deal with. But the upshot is that I have a healthy, wonderful little boy!

Theodore was born weighing 7 lb 12 oz, and was 20.5 inches long. He has a full head of dark brown hair and very dark eyes. If you'd like to see pictures of him, I have a few posted over at BabiesOnline.com. I'm sure I'll be adding more here, there, and everywhere as time goes on!
